چکیده
Capture marine fisheries play a significant role in social, cultural, and economic dimensions of Indian capture that contributes to the blue growth strategies. Here small-scale (SSF) constitute about 60 % remaining 40 large-scale fishing fleets (LSF). In this study, we have highlighted techno-economic key indicators technical efficiency SSF LSF Gulf Mannar Biosphere Reserve, India using Cobb-Douglas function, Data Envelopment Analysis. The was slightly higher (TE = 0.961) with better quantity fish produced per litre fuel (5.05 kg) compared 0.951). labour such as value ($87.56) day (83.39 greater than ($7.07 14.26 kg, respectively). Though production cost for LSF, gross revenue $658.27 generated ($42.41) it mainly related engine power (150 – 200 hp) longer ground distance from shore (117.50 km) (9.9 25 hp 48.80 km, Results present study suggest there is limited scope improve fleet since both were operated at conditions. However, lower trip can be improved minimized by improving performance Reserve.

The present study was carried out to evaluate the in vitro antioxidant activity of actinobacteria isolated from the sediments of coral reef environment of the Gulf of Mannar Biosphere Reserve, India. Among 86 strains, five actinobacterial strains (PM15, PM16, PM17, PM18 and PM19) were tested for antioxidant potential, using standard methods. The most active strain PM17 was identified using chem...

متن کاملSeasonal Variations of Trace Metal Accumulation on Coral Reef in Gulf of Mannar, India
Investication of trace metal occumulation on coral and reef environment (sediment and water) of the Gulf of Mannar biosphere reserve was studied during July 2007 to June 2008. The samples were collected for analyzing from Thoothukudi and Vembar group of Islands, Gulf of Mannar. The concentration of trace metal in the water are in the order of Fe > Pb > Zn > As > Mn > Cd > Cu and in sediment in ...
